Announcing the Dallas Symphony
Orchestra Guild's 2008-2009
Season!
The 2008-2009 season begins with our first Luncheon Event on September 19th, featuring
composer Steven Stuckey at the Dallas Petroleum Club. The season continues
with such classical music luminaries as conductor Carlos Kalmar, conductor
Leonard Slatkin, DSO Music Director Emeritus Andrew Litton, Violinist
Karen Gomyo, and the DSO's beloved Choral Director David Davidson.
We are very excited to announce that DSO Music Director Jaap van Zweden
will join us for lunch on November 7th at the Dallas Country Club!
Also, stay tuned for more information regarding the Guild's Spring
Gala. Already
scheduled on April 5, 2009 at the Dallas Country Club, this exciting musical event
will feature Israeli Opera Music Director Asher Fisch at the piano.

The Dallas
Symphony Orchestra Guild is
a support group for the DSO that sponsors the Performance
Preludes - free educational lectures at the Meyerson Symphony
Center one hour before every classical series performance.
During the concert season, the Guild holds both luncheon and
evening programs for its members and their guests to meet and
talk with the guest soloist, the composer or the conductor
featured in the upcoming weekend’s DSO performance. These
programs, designed to enrich the participant’s knowledge and
appreciation of classical music, are additional ways in which
the Guild furthers its educational purpose. Proceeds from the
Spring Gala will go directly to support the Performance
Preludes.
